Cancer Control P.L.A.N.E.T. Retirement
NCI is closing out 2021 with renewed focus on providing access to data and resources that can help cancer control planners, health educators, program staff, and researchers design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based cancer control programs. As part of that initiative and having successfully accomplished its goal, we have decided to retire the Cancer Control P.L.A.N.E.T. portal and transition its activities to other implementation science channels.
We want to thank our sponsors, planners, health educators, and everyone else who has participated in Cancer Control P.L.A.N.E.T. over the years. Since the website’s inception in 2003, your contributions have provided valuable resources leading to the reduction of cancer incidence and the number of deaths from cancer, as well as enhancing the quality of life for cancer survivors. We hope you will continue to carry your ideas and solutions forward to others.
You can still access the valuable tools and resources once curated on Cancer Control P.L.A.N.E.T.:
- State Cancer Profiles
- U.S. Cancer Statistics: Data Visualizations
- Implementation Science Research & Practice Tools
- Guide to Community Preventive Services (The Community Guide)
- U.S. Preventive Services Task Force
- International Cancer Control Plans
- U.S. Comprehensive Cancer Control Plans
We also encourage you to visit Evidence-Based Cancer Control Programs to stay connected to the cancer control community. We remain committed to this work and look forward to continuing our collaboration with you to turn research into reality.
